Wow. After seeing the testifying of all witnesses, it's just amazing the amount of evidence there is against this administration. Well documented, with much good public speaking. Even some bipartisan support.
But there were neocons there, too, and they were so obvious. There's a stephen presser, and a jeremy rabkin who'd testified, and spent the whole time trying to either do personal attacks on the mindset of the people who supported impeachment, or downplay bush's actions by fearmongering about terrorism or saying he's a wartime president, which somehow justifies that he illegally started the war. At no time did either of these answer to the actual evidence that was submitted. At the end of the testifying, one of the first politicians to ask for comments on the testifying of everyone there was Lamar Smith, well known as one of the most clearly corrupt of all the neocons that are currently in congress. Who did he call on for comment? Rabkin and Presser, and only them. The interaction between these three was so completely obvious as an attempt to subvert opinion without actually providing any specific, relevant information at all, and was shameful.
Some of the most interesting information provided was a quote by bush behind closed doors trying to provoke war with iraq by painting a plane as a UN plane, flying it over iraq and if saddam shot it down, to use it as justification for war. Another is that there is no immunity, no statute of limitations, for the crimes committed such as torture and murder, under the anti-torture act.
